igus GmbH has updated its RBTX automation marketplace so customers can now add components to their cart for purchase or build a complete system with guaranteed compatibility.
The RBTX marketplace has officially launched new e-commerce functionality allowing customers to purchase high-end components, robots, and services directly through the company’s website.
“We are excited to enable online checkout for customers while still providing our compatibility guarantee,” stated Jan Hennecke, product manager for RBTX at igus. “We will continue to focus on support and helping customers choose the right components for their solution, but for those that already know what they need, they can now easily purchase parts on their own.”
RBTX offers two ways to shop for components
This shift to a self-serve model removes the requirement for a sales consultation, providing a streamlined experience for engineers and designers, according to igus. Customers can now manage the entire purchasing process online with full pricing transparency and secure credit card checkout.
The website offers two new options for purchasing components. The new shopping experience is built on the philosophy that technical complexity should not be a barrier to efficiency, the company said.
Customers can now navigate the catalog through two primary workflows:
- Standard self-serve shopping: This is suitable for customers who know exactly what they need, said igus. Users can add any components, robots, or services from the RBTX shop to their cart and check out instantly using a credit card. While this process is self-serve, users are still notified if their chosen parts are compatible with each other before checkout.
- Build a complete system: This guided experience helps users design complete systems with guaranteed compatibility. The tool walks users through selecting integrated parts to create a fully functional setup, ensuring that every piece—from hardware to software—works together seamlessly.
igus offers comprehensive guarantee
While the new checkout system empowers users to move quickly, RBTX said it remains committed to its consultative roots. The “Build a Complete System” feature is backed by a guarantee that the selected parts will function as a cohesive unit. This reduces the risk of downtime or incorrect ordering, often associated with complex robotics hardware, it said.
igus develops and produces motion plastics. The Cologne, Germany-based company claimed that its self-lubricating, high-performance polymers can reduce costs.
With U.S. headquarters in Rumford, R.I., igus said it is the global market leader in energy supplies, highly flexible cables, plain and linear bearings, and lead-screw technology made of tribo-polymers.
